Following surgery, common symptoms include swelling, a feeling of tightness, bruising, and moderate tenderness in the breast area. Most patients describe the pain as mild to moderate, with the most intense pain occurring in the first few days after the procedure. The discomfort usually subsides gradually within a week.
After surgery, the patient wears a compression bra, which reduces swelling, supports tissues, and aids in proper healing. Compression garments are recommended to be worn continuously for approximately four weeks after surgery.
For the first few weeks, heavy physical exertion, lifting weights, and intense sports are not recommended. Most patients return to lighter daily activities after about one week.
Proper scar care is also important, as modern silicone products and massage can significantly improve their appearance.
