The pose is suitable for individuals with symptoms:

  • nighttime tingling in the fingers
  • reduced sensation in the thumb, index finger, and middle finger
  • Poor grip or falling objects
  • Wrist or palm pain
  • advanced signs (weakened thumb, muscle atrophy)
Carpal tunnel syndrome is the most common nerve entrapment neuropathy of the hand, resulting from pressure on the median nerve in the wrist. Symptoms can significantly impact work, sleep, and quality of life. Therefore, at Juventina, we thoroughly examine your condition with advanced diagnostics to recommend the next steps in treatment.

Procedure Description

Carpal tunnel syndrome occurs due to compression of the median nerve in the narrow carpal tunnel. The goal of treatment is to relieve pressure on the nerve and improve its function. If conservative treatment is unsuccessful, we recommend surgery. The goal of the procedure is permanent nerve release and restoration of arm function.

At Juventini, we use a minimally invasive technique with a short incision, in which:

  • Protect important nerve structures
  • Let's use surgical loupes for maximum precision.
  • Reduce the chances of tissue damage

Within Juventino Care 360°, we provide comprehensive preparation for your procedure, fast and effective recovery, and access to advanced therapies for a better outcome.

Preparation for surgery

Before the procedure, we perform a thorough examination and diagnosis to confirm the diagnosis and determine the degree of stenosis.

As needed, we include:

  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) of the hand
  • Additional specialist examinations

Before surgery, we recommend:

  • Wrist load adaptation
  • Avoiding certain medications (as directed by a doctor)

Procedure steps

During surgery under local or regional anesthesia, after a prior consultation and planning, a small incision is made under the wrist crease to expose the cutaneous nerve branches and the transverse carpal ligament. The ligament is then severed, releasing the median nerve and motor branches. Precise hemostasis (stopping bleeding) is performed, followed by skin sutures. After the surgery, a bandage and a sling are applied.

The process usually proceeds in the following steps:

Make a small cut on the wrist
Transverse carpal ligament rupture
Relax the median nerve

In the Juventus poseg, we use a minimally invasive technique, which allows for:

  • No pain
  • Faster recovery
  • Minimal scarring

Recovery

After surgery, minimal pain, swelling, a pulling sensation, and altered skin sensitivity may be present at the surgical incision site. These symptoms usually disappear for the most part after approximately 3 weeks. Burning pain and tingling typically improve immediately after surgery. The sense of touch returns in most patients within a few weeks to months (depending on the degree of impingement).

After surgery, the following may be present:

  • Mild pain
  • Swelling
  • Feeling of tightness

It is important to know:

  • Improving efficiency is often quick
  • The sensation gradually returns in weeks to months
  • Early finger movement is recommended

In the first few weeks after the procedure:

You can begin gentle finger exercises a few hours after the operation – make a fist 10 times in a row every hour. We recommend suture removal after 10-14 days. Keep your hand elevated above heart level until the sutures are removed (use an arm sling or prop your arm up). After suture removal, we recommend physiotherapy and scar care.

In advanced cases (muscle atrophy), complete recovery of function is not always possible – which is why prompt treatment is crucial. With an additional program Juventina Care 360°  We enable comprehensive pre-operative preparation, fast and effective recovery, and advanced therapies for better outcomes.

Juventina Care 360° includes:

  • performance of medical examinations
  • rehabilitation program
  • products and services you need during recovery
  • The most current methods for faster regeneration

For best results, we recommend:

Gentle early finger exercises
Holding the hand above heart level
Suture removal after 10–14 days
Physiotherapy as needed
